Presidents in the Middle Ages

February 28, 2017

For better or worse, our Presidents have shaped our past and future. They have led the U.S. to be a leader in the world while guiding us through the highs and lows of our country's saga.

I wanted to takes these larger than life figures and place them in their Medieval counterparts based on their attitude and policy while in office.

Obama, to me, was an archer. He had to be very precise in his diplomacy and policies while not having a majority in several branches of government. He also conducted remote warfare, combating a new type of enemy with calculated strikes.

Lincoln was a defender of established ideals for half of the country. He inherited a civil war and had to rise to the occasion. While raising support for the Union, he counseled his generals with the best tactics at his command. He abolished slavery, which was a next step in a long road for civil rights.

Reagan was a sapper. Sappers used to dig under enemy walls to either weaken their structure or clear a way for forces to get through.  His actions as President, in turn, led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. He also undermined federal taxes to stimulate the economy.

I am hoping to do more Presidents based on the popularity of this piece. If you like the idea, let me know!
